Mercedes Moné has been at the forefront of women’s wrestling for over a decade.

From her time as Sasha Banks in the WWE and as part of the Four Horsewomen, Moné has long been one of, if not the most, influential wrestlers of the past decade.

Moné had great success early in her career in the WWE. During her time in the WWE, she became NXT Women’s Champion, Smackdown Women’s Champion, a two time Women’s Tag Team Champion and a five time Raw Women’s Champion.

All of her success in the WWE made he jump to AEW one of the biggest signings the company has made.

Moné made her official AEW debut in March of 2024. She picked up right where she left off becoming the longest-reigning TBS Champion with a staggering 584 day reign.

Recently in an interview with the Daily Star, Moné opened up about her experience thus far in AEW. Talking about the freedom she has received in AEW, Moné said “I’ve always wanted that feeling of feeling free. And I feel like this is the best I’ve ever been able to perform because I have that capability and that ability to have that freedom.”

Moné did not just boast about the freedom that AEW gives her, but she also seemingly threw some shade at some or one of her former employers. Moné says that her ability to perform is bolstered because she is “not having people tell you no or being scared to tell something and then you will be told no.”

About her time in AEW, Moné says “I’m very happy to be here and I hope that shows in my work. But yeah, I think it shows in my matches how free I feel and how great I feel in AEW.”
