Zelina Vega is set to wrestle her first match since leaving WWE.

Zelina, who is 35 years old and whose real name is Xelina, has not been shy about staying around the wrestling scene since leaving WWE.

She attended WrestleCon back in April and is also scheduled for a meet-and-greet on September 14th with her husband, Malakai Black, formerly known as Aleister Black.

However, this upcoming event will be her first wrestling match since leaving WWE during the post-WrestleMania cuts.

Vega first signed with WWE in 2017, joining the company as the manager of former WWE star Andrade, who is now with AEW. On November 13th, 2020, she was released from her WWE contract. She then returned to the company seven months later, where she competed in the 2021 Money in the Bank match.

Zelina later made it to the Queen of the Ring final and eventually defeated Doudrop (Piper Niven) to become the new Queen of the Ring. Her final accolade came in the form of winning the United States Championship, which she won by defeating Chelsea Green.

A short time later, after what fans called an underwhelming title run, Zelina would drop the championship to fan-favourite Giulia. She would then receive a title rematch but was unsuccessful in reclaiming the championship.

Her final months in the company saw her working as the manager of Aleister Black, who is her husband. She was involved in the feud between Black and Damian Priest, with Black ultimately falling short and losing the trilogy.

Vega, now 35, will be hoping that her return to the independent scene after leaving the likes of CMLL, where she worked under the name “Dark Angel” will see her booked in great matches and hopefully, climb her way back to the top of the independent scene.

Zelina Vega is set to compete for House of Glory at the Fallout show, which is scheduled to take place in Los Angeles on Friday, September 4th.

On July 20th, Vega filed a trademark for “Xelina” and confirmed that this would be the name she uses moving forward while she is not signed to a company and is a free agent.

Vega’s opponent for this match is being kept under wraps, and it is currently unknown who she will face.

Zelina’s fans, as well as fans of HOG, will now be waiting excitedly and wondering who her opponent could be for her first match back since leaving WWE.
