There was a lot of concern surrounding Jim Ross this week.

The WWE Hall of Famer was set to undergo brain surgery on Wednesday, and it wasn’t exactly a routine procedure.

Ross has battled several serious health issues over the years.

After revealing doctors would be drilling a hole in his skull to help drain excess fluid from his brain, fans across the wrestling world flooded social media with messages of support.

Even knowing exactly what the surgery involved, JR remained optimistic heading into the operation.

Wednesday finally brought the update everyone had been waiting for.

According to podcast co-host Conrad Thompson, the procedure went exactly as everyone had hoped. Thompson shared the news on X after hearing directly from Ross’ daughter.

“Happy to report that our pal @JRsBBQ had a successful procedure this morning!

“I heard from his lovely daughter this morning that everything went well and good ole JR is expected to be back home by Friday!

“Please keep JR in your prayers as we hope for a speedy recovery!”

The update is about as encouraging as wrestling fans could have hoped for after the concerns surrounding the surgery over the past few days.

Now the focus is on recovery. If everything continues to go according to plan, Good Ol’ JR could already be back home before the weekend begins.

With AEW All In set for August 30, fans will now be hoping Ross continues recovering and is able to make the trip to Wembley later this month.
