Another member of WWE’s most famous family has decided it’s almost time to call it a career.
After nearly two decades in professional wrestling, one former WWE star has revealed that his in-ring journey is entering its final chapter, with the finish line now officially in sight.
That wrestler is Lance Anoaʻi.
The 34-year-old announced on Instagram that he’ll retire from professional wrestling in March 2027, giving himself several more months in the ring before officially reaching the 17-year milestone.
The decision wasn’t about falling out of love with wrestling.
Instead, Anoaʻi explained that after years of spending weekends on the road, he’s ready to devote that time to his wife and children and be present for the moments he’s missed along the way.
“For so many years, wrestling has taken up my weekends, my time, and countless moments away from the people I love most. I’ve reached a point where I want to dedicate that time to my wife and my kids and be there for the moments that matter most.”
Anoaʻi also made it clear that retirement doesn’t mean he’s turning his back on wrestling completely.
He said he’ll continue supporting his family and everything they’re building in the business, even after his own career comes to an end.
The son of Samu and grandson of Afa Anoaʻi, Lance spent years building his own résumé outside the shadow of one of wrestling’s most famous bloodlines.
He became best known for his run in MLW, where he captured the MLW World Tag Team Championship alongside Juicy Finau as part of the Samoan SWAT Team.
His time in WWE ultimately proved far shorter than expected. After signing with the company in 2024, injuries prevented him from wrestling a single match before his release the following year.
March 2027 is still several months away, so Anoaʻi isn’t saying goodbye just yet.
But after 17 years in the business, he’s already decided how he wants the story to end: with family coming first.
