Former WCW world champion wants to join AEW

Don’t be surprised to see a former WCW star in AEW one day.

Another former world champion has his eye on AEW.

The actor-turned-wrestler isn’t just interested in making another appearance either.

If the opportunity ever comes together, he already knows exactly who he’d like to share the ring with.

That former champion is David Arquette.

During a recent Reddit AMA, the former WCW World Champion admitted he’d love to work with AEW, explaining that many of his friends are already with the company.

He also named several wrestlers he’d like to cross paths with if it ever happens.

“On a side note, I would love to do something on AEW. So many of my friends work there and I have unfinished business with Jeff Jarrett and would love to work with Jack Perry and sadly RJ City, not to mention Dalton Castle!”

One name stood out more than the others.

Rather than simply mentioning Jeff Jarrett, Arquette described their history as “unfinished business,” making it clear that’s a story he’d still like to revisit if he ever steps into an AEW ring.

The wrestling comments came while Arquette was answering a completely different question.

Asked which movie from his career he’d most like to make a sequel to, he picked Ready to Rumble, saying the film still has a passionate fanbase and could work again today, especially if wrestling was involved.

Arquette’s relationship with wrestling has always been unique.

His WCW World Championship reign remains one of the most talked-about moments in the company’s history, but he never completely turned his back on the business.

Over the years, he’s returned to wrestling, worked independent matches and remained involved with the industry in different ways.

Nothing guarantees AEW is currently planning to bring him in.

But if the opportunity ever presents itself, Arquette has made one thing pretty clear: he’d gladly lace the boots back up, and he already has a shortlist of people he’d like to work with.
