Canadian wrestling promotion Capital City Championship Combat, more commonly known simply as C*4 Wrestling, has hosted its annual Fighting Back: Wrestling With Cancer event to raise funds for cancer research since 2011.
Fifteen years since the event’s creation, the promotion has raised around $700,000 for the worthy cause.
The 2026 version is no exception, as C*4 Wrestling is hosting the 15th edition of Fighting Back tonight at the Preston Event Centre in Ottawa, Ontario.
However, earlier today, the promotion announced on social media that one of the previously promoted wrestlers for the event would no longer be able to attend the show.
And it’s someone who has returned to our screens more visibly in the past week.
C*4 Wrestling have confirmed that All Elite Wrestling star Eddie Kingston would be unable to appear at their Fighting Back: Wrestling With Cancer event.
The announcement was made on the day of the event itself.
“We are deeply sorry to announce that due to circumstances beyond our control, Eddie Kingston will no longer be appearing tonight at our event,” the promotion wrote on their social media accounts.
“We assure you the show is going to be incredible, and we will do our best to make up for the change. Please support if you are able to”.
No further explanation was given regarding Kingston’s absence.
Eddie Kingston’s last televised appearance came on August 8 at AEW Collision, where he defeated Jake Doyle to qualify for the final eight of the Continental Challenge Cup.
There was no apparent injury during the match, nor has one been publicly announced since.
Despite the setback, C*4 Wrestling will look to deliver an exciting show while continuing to raise funds toward this year’s goal of $50,000.
AEW fans will be looking to see if any further details on why Eddie Kingston was unable to perform at the event and whether it will affect any other events he’s scheduled to perform at too.
