Chelsea Green has never been interested in playing things safe.
From declaring herself “The Ultimate American” despite being proudly Canadian to embracing every ridiculous situation WWE has thrown her way, Green has built a reputation for making almost anything entertaining.
It’s a big reason why she’s become one of the most popular women on the WWE roster despite rarely taking the traditional path to the top.
That journey finally paid off at SummerSlam.
After years of turning small opportunities into memorable moments, Green climbed the ladder and captured the Interim WWE Women’s Championship.
It was the biggest victory of her career and the latest reminder that betting against Chelsea Green has become a bad idea.
Now she’s looking to ensure that the title reign is just as memorable.
Green may still be waiting to find out exactly what WWE has planned for her week to week, but that hasn’t stopped her from mapping out the personality of her championship run. If she gets her way, she’s already figured out where things are heading.
Speaking on The Nikki & Brie Show, the new Interim WWE Women’s Champion admitted she still had no idea what WWE creative had planned for her on SmackDown later that night.
“Okay. So in terms of the title, I have no idea what’s happening tonight.
“I don’t know. I didn’t know what was happening this morning when I logged on to do media. You know what I mean? I stay clueless.
“”I am designing shirts that are gonna go with my theme of like world domination.
“Because I was talking on the post show about I was first like the Ultimate American, which was so hypocritical ’cause I’m Canadian, and I love that. I thought it was so funny.
“Then me and Ethan kind of took over North America. We were claiming we are Canadian, but I already was the president of America and then we were taking over Mexico.
“And by the way, the Mexican audience… they took us in like we were not being absolute gremlins.
“They were so good. And so now it’s like, okay, we did America, we did North America. Now we’re gonna go for world domination.
“Of course. Have to. We’re gonna make that a shtick.”
“We’re gonna make T-shirts, all of the… we’re gonna try to take the interim out of the title.
“I got a shirt that’s dropping today… You can go… on WWE Shop and get it and support your girl.”
Chelsea Green has spent years proving she can turn even the most over-the-top ideas into something fans genuinely get behind.
Now that she’s finally reached the top of the women’s division, it doesn’t sound like she’s planning to change a thing. If anything, becoming champion has only convinced her to think even bigger.
