Chelsea Green wasn’t out for long.

Just weeks after revealing she had suffered a broken orbital bone, the WWE Women’s Champion was back in the squared circle.

On Monday, WWE taped the upcoming August 28 episode of Friday Night SmackDown after Monday Night Raw in Ottawa, Canada.

Fans who were in attendance managed to see the in-ring return since the injury she suffered in a WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship match when she teamed with Tiffany Stratton to take on Fatal Influence in a losing effort.

Green’s quick return shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Before getting back in the ring, Chelsea Green had made it publicly clear she had no plans to take time off because of the injury.

Speaking with eTalk, Green admitted she was fully expecting someone to come after her championship and even had a custom protective face mask ready to help protect her broken orbital bone if things got physical.

“Anything can happen. I have my face mask ready to go that can protect my orbital bone. So, if someone comes at me for this title, know that I am prepared.”

Of course, Green wasn’t going to wear just any mask.

She joked that she had already bedazzled it and even put together matching eye patches so they would fit whatever gear she decided to wear.

And so that proved to be the case.

It was once again in tag team action that fans got to see Chelsea Green and she stayed true to her word with wearing a mask.

X user @TQSherwood shared images on social media confirming that Green once again teamed with Tiffany Stratton but this time against The Irresistible Forces, Nia Jax and Lash Legend, but things didn’t exactly go according to plan.

In the opening match of the show, powerhouse duo of Jax and Legend picked up the victory, and at one point Green had to be checked on by medical personnel before making her way back into the action.

It has been confirmed by those in attendance that Chelsea Green did wear a bedazzled mask, in what is likely to be her attempt of protecting her face against any further damage.

Injuries are not anything new for Chelsea Green.

Looking back on her career, she’s had heart surgery and a long list of broken bones and it’s clear that another setback wasn’t about to stop the current championship run she’d worked so hard to earn.

Despite suffering a broken orbital bone only weeks ago, Green has already returned to WWE action and doesn’t look interested in slowing down anytime soon.
