Bianca Belair thought the hardest part of her recovery was behind her. Turns out, it really was not.
The former WWE Women’s Champion has been spending over a year trying to get her surgically repaired finger back to normal.
Now she’s dealing with another issue entirely, and this one is affecting both of her hands.
Belair took to her Instagram Stories to reveal she’s developed carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands after giving birth, and judging by her reaction, she wasn’t expecting any of it.
“No one ever talks about this stuff… currently carpal tunnel in both hands… fingers completely numb… no grip strength… wtf lol.”
That’s on top of the finger she was already trying to heal.
Belair suffered a serious finger injury at WrestleMania 41, crushing the knuckle joint badly enough to need surgery. Over the past few months, she hadd been sharing updates as she slowly got movement back, even celebrating the day she was finally able to bend the finger again.
It finally looked like things were starting to turn a corner.
Now, though, Belair says she has no feeling in that surgically repaired finger, while the rest of her fingers are numb as well.
Add in carpal tunnel in both hands, no grip strength and what’s commonly known as “Mom thumb,” and it’s very easy to see why she’s feeling frustrated.
Recovery has suddenly become about a lot more than just one finger.
Belair has been working for months to get her hand back to full strength, but this latest setback means she’s now dealing with multiple issues at the same time.
Hopefully, they’re all temporary.
However, judging by Belair’s reaction, this definitely wasn’t something she saw coming.
