Bayley’s WWE future remains up in the air.
The former Women’s Champion still hasn’t signed a new WWE contract, and according to Dave Meltzer, the decision now rests entirely with Bayley.
WWE has already written Bayley off television following Lyra Valkyria’s attack at Saturday Night’s Main Event, but whether that’s the end of the story remains to be seen.
Speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said Bayley remains unsigned and that she’s the one who now has a decision to make.
“The only thing I’ve heard from them when it comes to Bayley is that Bayley has a decision to make.
“So that’s the story, Bayley has a decision to make.
“She has not signed a contract. When she signs a contract I’m sure she’ll be back on TV”.
That also leaves WWE in an interesting position.
Bayley’s loss to Lyra Valkyria at Saturday Night’s Main Event, the attack on the steel steps and Lyra’s comments on RAW all work whether Bayley returns or not.
Meltzer believes WWE has already covered both possibilities.
“I think the situation with her is if she signs a contract she’ll probably come back and attack Lyra, and that’ll probably be her storyline.
“If she doesn’t sign, then she doesn’t come back, and the Madison Square Garden thing was a write-off”.
Bayley’s contract situation has only attracted more attention over the past few days.
She recently posted a training video featuring AJ Lee and Mercedes Moné with the caption “all or nothing, baby” while using the song “All In.”
This led to more speculation that she’ll join AEW, despite nothing confirming it was intended that way.
That’s not all because she was also quietly replaced by Ivy Nile for WWE’s SummerSlam Prospect Tryout VIP Experience without any explanation.
For now, though, the biggest question hasn’t changed. Bayley still hasn’t signed a new WWE contract, and until she makes that decision, WWE looks to have a storyline ready either way.
